Is Nose Filler Suitable for the Change You Want?

Nose filler is useful when the aim is to build up a low point, support a contour or smooth the transition around a small bump. It cannot reduce bone, cartilage or skin. What We Will Tell You No About

A filler is unlikely to answer a request for a physically smaller nose, narrower nostrils, a reduced bulbous tip or better breathing. A markedly deviated or structurally complex nose needs a different assessment. Surgical rhinoplasty is the relevant discussion when the aim is reduction, a substantial structural change or treatment of breathing symptoms.

How We Work

• Hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid, is held on the premises every day rather than ordered in if a problem appears.
• A reversible filler is used for a first treatment, so an unwanted contour can be corrected rather than waited out.
• The contour is agreed with you in a mirror before the treatment ends, rather than after it.
• Two different filler products are never placed in the same nose in one session.
• A staged plan is used when one appointment cannot safely achieve the change you want.
• Treatment is declined when adding volume cannot produce the change you are asking for.

 

 

What Happens at Your Appointment

Planning is done while you are seated upright, as the nose may look different when you lie back. Bringing a photograph of a shape you like can help explain your preference, although it may not be safe or proportionate to reproduce the same contour on another face.

• Topical anaesthetic is left on the skin for about 20 minutes.
• The doctor checks the nose from the front, side and oblique views and marks the areas that need support.
• Small amounts of filler are placed slowly at the depth chosen for that part of the nose.
• Shaping and review. The contour is checked with you in a mirror, and treatment stops once the agreed change has been reached.

Starting conservatively is intentional. A little more can be added after the nose settles. Correcting an overfilled bridge is much less straightforward.

 

Filler Used at The Clifford Clinic

Most first treatments use hyaluronic acid because hyaluronidase can dissolve it if the contour needs correction or urgent reversal is required.

Practical Safety Information

The clinic explains common side effects, urgent warning signs and the response plan before treatment. Risk is reduced through modest volumes, slow placement, the appropriate tissue plane and stopping before the bridge becomes overfilled. Hyaluronidase is kept on site so it is available immediately if needed.

Three things need a same-day phone call rather than a wait until morning. Nose pain that is getting worse, any change in the colour of the skin over the nose, and any change to your vision.

 

Aftercare and Recovery

You can drive home and usually resume desk-based work after the appointment. Swelling may make the nose look fuller for several days, so avoid judging the result too early. The review is scheduled after the contour has had time to settle.

• Keep spectacles and sunglasses off the bridge for about a week where practical, and contact lenses can be used during this period.
• For the same week, avoid firm pressure, forceful nose blowing and sleeping face down.
• Do not massage or try to reshape the filler yourself.

Come back to the review and say so. A hyaluronic acid filler can be adjusted and, if necessary, dissolved, which is why it is the usual choice for a first treatment.

Is there another non-surgical option?

The Ultra V Hiko nose thread lift uses fine dissolving threads instead of gel and is suited to a different group of noses. A combination may be considered after assessment.

Radiesse and Ellanse M are quoted at the consultation, because the quantity varies more and the clinic prefers not to publish a figure it might have to revise in the room.
