It is also important to realise that this treatment is not permanent. The results will typically last for up to 6 months, with a touch-up treatment also required to maintain the look.
However, studies have shown that if the treatment is done 4 times a year for 2 to 3 years, the targeted muscles will become weakened permanently. Therefore, the amount of botulinum toxin needed will eventually decrease, and fewer subsequent treatments will be needed.
