Injectable Moisturizers - Hyaluronic Acid: Skin Rejuvenation Treatment for Tired, Ageing Skin

Injectable Moisturisers – Hyaluronic Acid: Skin Rejuvenation for Tired, Ageing Skin

As we age, our skin naturally loses moisture, elasticity, and volume, leading to dryness, fine lines, and a dull, fatigued appearance. Injectable moisturisers, powered by hyaluronic acid (HA), offer a highly effective solution to deeply hydrate and revitalise the skin from within. Unlike topical creams, these treatments deliver HA directly into the dermis, where it binds water molecules to restore plumpness, smoothness, and radiance. Ideal for tired, ageing, or dehydrated skin, hyaluronic acid injectables provide long-lasting hydration and a natural, dewy glow, making them a popular non-surgical option for youthful skin rejuvenation.

Published research describes this formulation as a stable hybrid cooperative complex containing high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. The complexes are created through a thermal process without the use of chemical cross-linking reagents. [4]

What is Injectable Moisturizers - Hyaluronic Acid?

Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid is a 100% pure HA-based, chemical stabiliser-free product used to treat aging and sagging skin. It is different from all other typical skin fillers and skin boosters as it acts via a new process: bio-remodelling of the collagen and elastin structures in the skin.

Skin and skin aging

The human skin is divided into three layers: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.

Support structures like collagen and elastin, which gives the skin structure and helps maintain elasticity and firmness, are found in the dermis layer. As we age, the natural production of collagen and elastin slows down, and the amount of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in our skin decreases. This can cause the skin to lose elasticity and sag, creating the wrinkly appearance typically associated with old age.

How does Injectable Moisturizers - Hyaluronic Acid work?

After being injected into the skin, Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid naturally distributes itself.

Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid achieves bio-remodelling of the skin in three main ways.

  1. The high concentration of HA in Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid stimulates fibroblast cells to increase natural collagen and elastin production in the dermis.
  2. The HA complexes present in Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid directly provides structure to the skin via a volumetric effect to help reduce sagging.
  3. Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid improves hydration, preventing the skin from drying out and thus maintaining elasticity.

After being injected into the skin, Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid naturally distributes itself across multiple layers of the skin. This helps in improving skin laxity and hydration from the inside out, giving you a more youthful look. It also stimulates tissue repair processes, which can help in the repair of acne scars.

A 2024 split-face randomised trial involving 12 adults with atrophic acne scars compared subcision alone with subcision combined with the hyaluronic acid mesogel.

Separate early studies have assessed a different, more cohesive high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid formulation designed for placement in the superficial lateral cheek fat compartment. A 22-person case series reported increased soft-tissue thickness with clinical improvement that remained observable over six months, while a 50-person observational pilot study reported improvements in facial volume-loss and wrinkle-severity scores that were maintained three months after treatment completion. [2] These were uncontrolled studies of a related formulation, so their results may not apply identically to every injectable hyaluronic acid protocol. [3]

The two studies assessed 22 and 50 participants respectively, using formulations intended for the superficial facial fat compartment

What results can be expected?

  • Firming, tightening and lifting effect on the skin
  • Tissue and scarring repair
  • Enhanced hydration
  • Collagen bio-stimulation
  • A quick procedure that takes 30-40 minutes to complete
  • Minimal downtime with mild post procedure side effects that usually subside within 1-3 days

A 2026 triple-blind, placebo-controlled split-face trial involving 12 women with signs of perioral ageing reported visual improvements in wrinkles and pore size following two treatment sessions. Dermal thickness increased on both the treatment and saline-injected sides, while patient satisfaction was mixed, indicating that the extent of visible improvement and satisfaction can vary between individuals.6

Treatment procedure

Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid comes in individual pre-filled 2ml syringes. Unlike traditional injection techniques, 0.2ml of Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid is carefully injected into several specifically-selected Bio Aesthetic Points (BAPs) on each side of the patient’s face. By administering Injectable Moisturizers – Hyaluronic Acid through only 10 key points on the face, this minimizes risks to blood vessels and nerves while maximising efficacy through diffusion.
