Restoring Your Confidence With Flawless Skin

How does Q-switched laser treatment work?

Available in Singapore, our Q-Switch Laser treatment is used to remove unwanted spots and marks on the affected area effectively such as sun freckles, acne scars and age spots. It generates a non-invasive high-energy laser pulse at a specific wavelength on the targeted area. The pigments are broken down in smaller fragments to be absorbed by the skin, before being naturally cleared away by the body.

How many treatments are needed?

Different treatment plans may be recommended depending on the type and condition of the pigmentation. Some pigments can be removed effectively in just one or two sessions, or may require several repeated sessions before you can begin to see significant difference in your skin. Our doctors at The Clifford Clinic will advise you on how many sessions you will require to achieve your desired results.

What are the benefits?

This laser treatment is used to treat freckles, sunspots, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. A single treatment can result in the removal of 75-100% of an individual brown spot. On some occasions, a second treatment may be needed to completely treat the affected area.

At the same time, this laser treatment will gentle stimulate the skin’s own collagen to boost production levels and maintain the elasticity and firmness in your skin. Aside from spot and acne scar removal, it is a cost-effective option to minimise pores and remove blackheads.

Is it safe?

The Q-Switch Laser treatment is a gentle alternative than other skin resurfacing procedures and does not cause the skin to become thinner. It is FDA approved with a 100% safe procedure and clinically proven to target superficial and deep hyper-pigmented lesions and acne scar removal without experiencing side effects.

Is it painful?

Though it varies on different patients, the 15-minute laser procedure is generally a tolerable and comfortable process. You may also feel the sensation of having tiny hot dots or a rubber band snapping on your skin. However, you can request for a numbing cream prior to treatment to reduce any discomfort.

Is there any down time?

With Q-switch laser treatment, there is almost no downtime and you can expect to resume your daily activities and work without interruptions after your session. Erythema (skin redness) may be expected post-treatment and it usually fades within an hour, but you can also apply makeup without any issue. Urticaria (hives) can also occur occasionally, though this can be treated with medications.

When can I expect to see results?

You should expect to see results such as lightened pigmentation, smaller pores and better pimple control within 3 to 4 weeks of commencing the laser treatment. The cost depends on the area treated and the number of treatments.

Your Confidence Will Be Restored And You Will Be Ready To

Take On The World

01

Acne

In this treatment, we use the laser light to eradicate the sebaceous glands and remove bacteria. The Q-switch laser is used to control swelling of the acne, minimize sebum production, and minimize pore size. Other uses for this procedure include:

  • Reducing redness after inflammatory acne
  • Poor skin texture
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Acne scars
  • Adult acne

02

Epidermal (Outer layer of your skin) Pigmentation such as freckles.

As the pigmented area on your skin is destroyed by the Q-switch laser, this results in the area turning red. A scab, identifiable by its dry and rough protective crust, will form over the wound during healing and fall off in a few days. You will then gradually notice your skin improve over the next few weeks.

03

Dermal (Deeper layer of your skin) Pigmentation such as tattoos and birthmarks.

The pigment in the tattoo is broken down by the intense laser energy into tiny micro fragments that will eventually be eliminated by the body.
